Default Pre-Mades: Good or Bad?

I like the new pre-mades recently implemented much more than the original as they reflect the "now" in the pvp section of GW.

However, GW is supposed to be about change, diversity, and the riddance of FoTM (yeah right). Well, if GW is really about not excluding all the unique skills and different classes, why are there pre-mades at all?

Dont get me wrong, I love the pre-mades, they help new players learn what is good and, well, whats not so good. Although I appreciate the pre-mades, new players could just as easily ask here[being GWG or any other site] or in-game for some decent builds instead of learning to play with that build and totally isolating all other skills in the "do not use zone."

So, I know the pre-mades may help, but, you ahve heard my opinion, what say you?

I like the premades for new pvpers. I'd much rather have a guy on my team running a template shock war, instead of a custom wammo. Hands down.

Premades are good for people who just got the game ans want to jump straight into PvP without taking the time to play through the game and unlock skills. While the new premades are better because they don't rely on old tactics/combinations that may have been nerfed/changed a long time ago, I still haven't come across a single premade that I would use over one of my custom builds.

Yes, i agree premades are quite good as well, especially for the new up and coming pvper. Actually 70% of the time premades are better than customs, and for those people who go "ZOMg Nub, Ur making UP NumberZ!!" Well, this number is just with the people ive pugged with, and is a rough estimate.

Premades are usually good with some tweaking. i change the shock warr and take out frenzy and a couple others and stick in conjure lightning so you can take points out of strength and put more in air magic so -forgot kd skill- does more dmg.

Well... new premades = less whammos - more shockers, less healing breeze spammers - more boonprots...

And if you are hardcore pvper that don't want to play pve entirely, then with new premades you have some actual starting point.

Gotta love them.

I love the premades. I wouldn't play the blessed monk if they didn't have a premade.

They rock!

Are they all originally designed by Esoteric Warriors though? I'm pretty sure EW didn't invent them. They are too popular and too wide spread to have originated from 1 guild.

Premades = good
Me = never used them (i dont want to get bashed by some elitist :P)

These are good for people who just want to get in there and PvP. I agree with the 'with some tweaking' idea.. most of the more popular builds probably derived from a premade.

I only get flamed for using them until "after" ive beaten my opponents with it. Though the only one I like using is the hot stepper, all the others I usually have my own tweaks for.

the problem with pre mades is people can learn to counter them. But a good player can make their own build and still be sucessefull too.

No, EW held a competition and anyone could submit builds, the best ones all around were voted for and eventually were put in.

Wow dude. Just wow. Do you even KNOW why frenzy is in there? You're taking out points in armour penetration and removing a faster damage skill from the skill bar so you can do a bit more damage on a knock down? Any half decent monk could probably counter that 'spike' with Signet of Devotion.

The only reason I use premades is when I'm trying to do a fast reroll, and one of the premades is close to what I'm trying to roll (thus I'd really appeciate it it Anet would add custom templates).

Premades are good. Something basic and solid that you can tweak a bit. Unlocking them all would take time, and how are you supposed to unlock them with a crappy build? If you start from scratch thats what you would have. Plus, alot of people dont go to websites/forums for their information, dont know about Guild Wiki, and when asking a question politely about builds in game get "OMG you noob".

Premades are good. When they will not be so good, then A-Net will grant a new top guild the privilege to make new templates.
This said, I think the finalists of GWFC should have the right to add a Template to the PvP selection screen.

That's a horrible tweak.

Very nice idea. The only downside is that after some time there would be so many templates that it wouldn't be worth time to unlock skills manually. Maybe only winners should be able to add a template.

The only tweak you should do on the shock warrior is dropping Rake for Bull's Strike.

Wow, the worse tweak ever.
